Keeping with the Hidden Halos vision and mission statement, Hidden Gems pre-school aims to breakdown barriers to education and provide equal access to quality education for all learners. Our education philosophy includes aspects from the Montessori approach and the SPELL framework.

  • Positive Reinforcement: Positive reinforcement is essential for creating a growth-oriented environment. This includes praising effort and persistence, celebrating small achievements, and encouraging learners to see mistakes as learning opportunities.

  • Empathy and Emotional Awareness: Recognizing each learner’s unique emotional landscape, our teachers are encouraged to connect with learners empathetically. In practice, this means understanding and respecting each learners’ challenges and progress, facilitating social-emotional learning, and fostering a culture of kindness and understanding.

  • Low-Arousal Approach: Embracing low-arousal techniques, the classroom embraces calm, gentle interactions that respect learners sensory and emotional thresholds. Activities are planned and introduced with minimal sensory overload, supporting concentration and reducing anxiety.
